Bird sounds
Updated 22 October 2026
Birdsong is the sound of morning. The birds here are real field recordings of more than twenty songs, played one at a time in random order, so you never hear the same loop. Add a stream and a breeze and it sounds like a garden at dawn.
Press play
Play opens the sound masker with this mix already loaded, so you can hear it and shape it.
How to set it up
- Press Play on Morning birds. The recordings download only when the Birds layer is up.
- For a fuller dawn chorus, open it in the sound masker and raise Birds.
- For an indoor cat, play Birds for cats for short sessions.
Birds chirping for waking and focus
Birdsong is bright and lively. That makes it a good sound to wake to or to work by in the morning, but usually too lively for sleep. Each call is a small event the brain notices.
Where the recordings come from
The bird recordings are licensed under Creative Commons by the recordists who made them. The Credits page lists each one.
