Waterfall sounds

Updated 22 October 2026

A waterfall is nature's white noise machine. Water falling and breaking makes a dense, steady roar with all frequencies in it. It covers sound as well as noise does, but it sounds like a place instead of a device.

Play opens the sound masker with this mix already loaded, so you can hear it and shape it.

How to set it up

  1. Press Play on Waterfall.
  2. For sleep, open it in the sound masker and lower Birds to zero.
  3. For a distant waterfall, lower the 4k to 16k sliders. Distance takes the highs away first.

A natural noise

Close to a waterfall, the sound is bright, like white noise. From farther away, the high frequencies fade and it becomes more like pink or brown noise. You can move between the two with the equalizer.

Questions
